Along this line, in previous work we have shown that the level of synaptic p-tau is markedly higher in individual terminals positive for Aβ; using samples from hippocampus and entorhinal cortex in early stage disease samples (≤ Braak IV), we demonstrated a highly significant correlation between early terminal levels of p-tau and Aβ 60 .
