As shown in Table 4 , the coefficients of EGR are insignificantly positive in columns (1), (3), (5), (7), (9), (11), and (13), but significantly negative in columns (2), (4), (6), (8), (10), (12), and (14), indicating that economic growth rate has reduced the probability of political promotion in the untreated samples, but has a weak trend to promote the probability of political promotion in the treated samples.
