Rather, reported trends in alcohol/cannabis use seemed to coincide with an inverse “V” pattern in which increased alcohol/cannabis was most prevalent during the second survey round, suggesting a possible rising trend in substance use in the earlier months of the pandemic (i.e., between spring and fall 2020), followed by a decreasing trend between fall 2020 and winter 2021.
