A study using 3-vessel intravascular ultrasound with near-infrared spectroscopy in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention for ACS found that intervening was safe, improved lumen size, and provided a nonsignificant trend toward favorable outcomes, thus paving the way for robust RCTs in this area ( 21 ).
