While many immune cells including AMs, monocytes, T and B cells infiltrate AT in obesity, the highly significant decreases in IL-1β and IL-6 suggest that inhibition of the inflammasome in AT macrophages could play a pivotal role in the reduction of HFWD-induced cytokines.
