DNAm levels captured by bisulfite Sanger sequencing allowed the development of a final APM with seven CpGs ( EDARADD CpG3, FHL2 CpG5, FHL2 CpG11, ELOVL2 CpG5, PDE4C CpG5, PDE4C CpG9, C1orf132 CpG3), revealing a very strong age correlation value (R = 0.940), highly significant ( p -value = 7.36 × 10 −79 ) and explaining 87.8% of the variation in age.
