The absence of an increasing trend in concentrations of the abovementioned elements at the reference point for Pchelina Reservoir (between the inflows of the two rivers—Struma River—anthropogenically affected and Svetlia River—anthropogenically unaffected) could be explained by the changed profile of the industry in the town of Pernik during the 1990s, since when mining and metallurgy have not been so dominant.
