The photosynthetic oxygen evolution rate (Pn) under the 8:16 L:D cycle decreased from 2.72 ± 0.06 to 2.49 ± 0.05 fmol O 2 cell −1 min −1 from ambient p O 2 to hypoxia, while such a decreasing trend did not occur under the 16:8 L:D cycle ( Figure 3 B).
