A meta-analysis that included 17052 IBD patients showed that CD patients had a borderline significant increased risk of liver-biliary cancer (SIR 2.47, 95%CI: 0.95-6.46), while UC patients are at significantly increased risk (SIR 2.58, 95%CI: 1.58-4.22) and this is attributed to the occurrence of PSC in patients with IBD[ 10 ].
