Some form of oncological data has been reported only by eight studies[ 20 - 22 , 24 - 28 ] and, even though no differences have been reported in terms of disease free survival and overall survival in this systematic review, a recent meta-analysis highlighted a possible trend towards a lower 5 years overall survival for patients treated with a laparoscopic approach for ICC when compared to those operated by open approach[ 39 ].
