While the largest and longest trial of CETP inhibition using anacetrapib showed a highly significant 9% reduction in CVD endpoints ( 148 ), anacetrapib has not been marketed for CVD, probably owing to the moderate effect size and the long-term accumulation of the drug in adipose tissue.
