Contrary to the expectation, the percentage of elderly widows who perceived health status as “poor” is higher among those who are living in urban areas than in rural areas, the opposite pattern is well established in the case of those who reported their overall health status as “good.” Obviously, with a few exceptions, the percentage of elderly widows who perceived their health status as “fair” mostly falls on line with that of those who reported as “good.” Difference across all the categories was highly significant.
