According to previous reports of various neonatal networks, the rate of PGF among VLBW infants, defined as a discharge weight below the 10th percentile, was noted to exceed 95% in the 1990s in the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) study, a decreasing trend from 2000 to 2013 (65% to 50%) in the Vermont Oxford Network, and 53% using the Fenton growth chart in 2005–2012 from the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative (CPQCC) [ 13 , 14 ].
