The model results confirmed our initial observations: Among the different tissue types, ‘Thoracic LN’ ( p -value = 0.023) was identified as a significant coefficient, and among the cohort groups, ‘Mtb NR’ ( p -value = 0.053) was identified as a marginally significant coefficient in the best model ( Table S3 ), suggesting that the viral diversity level in thoracic LNs was significantly different (38% higher) and the diversity in the Mtb NR cohort was marginally significantly different (20% higher) from that of SIV-only plasma samples while others did not ( Figure S4 ).
