In hospitalized patients who receive convalescent plasma compared with those who do not, data suggest a worrying trend toward an increase in the need for mechanical ventilation ([4 studies]; RR, 1.10; 95% CI, 0.94, 1.29; low certainty of evidence) and an increase in the risk of adverse events ([11 studies], RR, 1.08; 95% CI, 0.94, 1.26).
