In 2015, life expectancy after 60 years, which is the average number of years that a person of that age can be expected to live if age-specific mortality levels remain constant, ranged from 13 years in Sierra Leone, a low-income country in Africa, to 26 years in Japan, a high-income country and an increasing trend was observed (Help Age International 2015 ).
