Compared to 2008–2018 TC monthly means in the inside region, these elevations were statistically significant in December (W = 43, Z = − 3.16, p = 0.002, r = 0.47) and statistically highly significant in January (W = 79, Z = − 3.90, p < 0.001, r = 0.47), February (W = 62, Z = − 4.06, p < 0.001, r = 0.51), and March (W = 148, Z = − 3.92, p < 0.001, r = 0.46) (Supplementary Table S4 ).
