In the REGARDS cohort study, with 21,423 participants and 863 CVD deaths, cardiovascular death risk was reduced by 22% in participants who most adhered to the PaleoDiet score (Q5) compared to the lowest quartile, although a borderline significance was observed [ 19 ].
