1 The overall CRC trends of incidence and mortality vary between countries with an increasing trend was observed in low- and middle- income countries while a more stabilised and decreasing trend was observed in high-income countries. 13 The decrease in CRC mortality can be partly explained by improved survival of CRC patients through the adoption of best practices of cancer management and treatment, early detection efforts, and removal of polyps.
