Exposure to sulfonylureas (borderline significant) and sodium‐glucose co‐transporter‐2 inhibitors (marketed since December 2012) was found to be associated with a decreased rate of dementia in the main analysis but was not associated with a significant reduction in dementia when accounting for reverse causation, that is, ignoring prescriptions in the 2 years leading up to a diagnosis of dementia.
