Strengths and Weaknesses Both advantages and limitations of our study are primarily related to the retrospective cohort study design characteristics: the number of patients included in the study is somewhat significant, with 5039 women having been diagnosed with breast pathology, and the follow-up program was conducted to cover a period of 10 years (which allowed a thorough analysis of post-surgical and follow-up VTE occurrence).
