Based on the CMR of liver cancer during 1973–1979, the changing value of mortality rates caused by demographic factors showed an increasing trend in males, with an average period percentage change (APPC) of 39.00% (95% CI = 22.06–58.29%, P < 0.001) from 1980 to 2019, while a significantly decreasing trend was observed in the changing value related to non-demographic factors [APPC (95% CI ) = −38.20% (−55.40 to −14.37%), P = 0.01].
