Recently, for the first time in Italy and exclusively for poultry, a decreasing trend was observed in phenotypic resistance to ciprofloxacin, amoxicillin and tetracycline in commensal indicator E. coli isolated from broilers in the period 2014–2018 ( EFSA and ECDC, 2021 ).
