A recent meta-analysis showed that individuals with CYP2C9 poor metabolizers were associated with significantly increased risk of NSAID-related gastrointestinal bleeding (OR: 1.90, p = 0.003) and indicated that CYP2C9*2 was a poor risk predictor, while CYP2C9*3 was a highly significant predictor of GI bleeding ( Macías et al., 2020 ).
