Although there were trends for CMV seroprevalence to be higher for patients with COVID-19 versus healthy controls ( P = .07) and for recovered patients versus healthy controls ( P = .08), the difference in CMV seropositivity between hospitalized patients with COVID-19 and nonhospitalized and recovered patients with mild COVID-19 was highly significant ( P < .001) ( Figure 3A ).
