In the prospective, non‐interventional, multicentre TRUST study performed in 47 German IBD centres with 234 patients studying the change of defined IUS parameters in response to therapy, a highly significant proportion of patients showed normalization of bowel wall thickness (BWT) as early as 3 months following initiation of treatment. 2 In addition, at the same timepoint a highly significant proportion of patients demonstrated normalization of other IUS parameters, such as bowel wall stratification, Doppler signal and mesenteric proliferation.
