A second limitation is related to the selection of expected deaths; a study of excess mortality during the pandemic carried out in 103 countries mentions that 20 of them, in which Peru is located, have a death record of less than 90% according to the Demographic Yearbook of the United Nations for 2019, 19 although there was an increasing trend in the coverage of registered deaths according to data from 2012 (70%) to 2016 (80%).
