The combination of qualitative (presence/absence) and quantitative (normalized abundance) data suggest that approximately 38% of the original fruit mycobiota (i.e., species composition) remains in the fecal samples, even though the overall comparison of fruit and fecal fungal assemblages yielded marginally significant differences (Fig. 2 ).
