An increasing trend of IL-6, TNF- α and IL-10 were seen in both groups and the trends showed equally good results. 13 (20.31%) out of 64 patients showed an increasing trend of IL-6 gene on day 0 accompanied by serum IL-6 levels above normal range on day 5, out of which 2 (6.25%) and 11 (34.38%) subjects belonged to the treatment and control group, respectively ( p value = 0.010) (Table 1 , Fig. 1 a).
