In a retrospective study of 34 patients with suspected coagulopathy and recorded post-operative FXIII levels, eight patients had FXIII levels < 60% and all had a major post-operative haemorrhage compared to 3/26 patients with FXIII levels within reference ranges; this difference was highly significant [ 21 ].
