Recently, a study performed a statistical-based analysis of the structural and physicochemical properties shared by molecules that exhibit BBB penetration and indicated that nine molecular descriptors showed highly significant χ2 distribution: logD, logP, nitrogen and oxygen count, nitrogen count, oxygen count, ionization state, hydrogen bond acceptors, hydrogen bond donors, and polar surface area ( Dichiara et al., 2020 ).
