36 Even though Alrawiai et al found that the type of hospital is not significantly associated with the preference of SDM, this study found that it was highly significant in private hospitals. 1 This variation can be justified because of the differences in sample size between the two studies, where the current study has a larger sample size, ensuring more valid results. 37 In relation to the third research question which is “Is there an association between patients’ awareness and preference of SDM?”.
