In contrast, the endocan levels were still increased in the remission patients although this difference reached only borderline significance when compared with the controls; this is consistent with our previous observation for pretransplant endocan levels in allotransplant recipients [ 77 ]; all of these patients were in complete remission but the endocan levels varied and several patients had relatively high levels.
