We performed subgroup analysis by levels of interventional oxygen in an attempt to mitigate for this effect, and as well as demonstrating an association between very liberal oxygen therapy and increased mortality, these analyses also suggested a possible trend toward increased mortality with very restrictive oxygen therapy.
