The observation that the addition of immunosuppression to ACE inhibitor/ARB therapy increases proteinuria reduction is encouraging, but while it is important to note that there is an overall trend toward kidney protection, it must also be noted that the large majority of the published literature does not allow us to assess the independent effects of RAAS blockades on kidney survival in patients with FSGS.
