Accordingly, the protein biomarkers with consistent and highly significant associations are well-established markers of kidney function, and our validation in the Third Generation cohort of many of the discovery associations observed in the Offspring cohort emphasize associations of these proteins with kidney function in a younger, healthier population with little prevalent CKD.
