Discussion There has been an increasing trend toward the operative treatment in patients with acute, displaced clavicle fractures. 26 A meta-analysis 27 of randomized clinical trials showed that patients treated non-operatively had a higher risk of nonunion and symptomatic malunion than those who submitted to the operative treatment.
