Patient outcomes were similar between the conservative and liberal groups including 90-day mortality (14.7 vs 35.2%; p = 0.091) and ICU LOS (8.5 vs 12.5 d; p = 0.094); however, there was a nonsignificant trend toward better outcomes in the conservative group.
