The reduction in risk of a decline in eGFR associated with coffee consumption narrowly missed statistical significance in participants with a long duration of diabetes (≥15 years) versus those with a shorter duration, but was significantly larger in participants with poor glycemic control (baseline HbA 1c ≥8%) than in those with better glycemic control.
