Although there were no significant associations between total dietary fiber intake, soluble fiber intake, insoluble fiber intake, and AET or total number of reflux episodes, there was a statistical trend observed for higher consumption of total, soluble and insoluble dietary fiber in the Inconclusive GERD group who reported greater consumption of whole grain–type breads and crackers (2.3 ± 0.5 vs 1.4 ± 0.4 servings/day).
