Second, since China no longer publishes the total wastewater discharge after 2018, this study adds the statistical analysis of Stage 2 and comparatively analyzes the discharge of pollutants in wastewater in each province between 2018 and 2020, which shows that the COD and total nitrogen emissions in wastewater do not show a decreasing trend, but the wastewater treatment investment shows a decreasing trend.
