The number of microglia was significantly increased in the CA1 and DG areas of the hippocampus in the PPD group mice ( p < 0.001 and p < 0.01, respectively), while treatment with a high concentration of MGF significantly inhibited this increase, with a decreasing trend seen in the low concentration of MGF treatment groups ( Figures 4C,D ).
