Natural products are considered as viable lead candidates that have a highly significant role in drug discovery. 6–9 Livistona decipiens Becc. mostly known as ribbon fan palm is one of the palm species belonging to the Arecaceae family. 10 It is rich in important metabolites including flavonoid glycosides such as vitexin, vicenin II, orientin, and aglycones such as quercetin and apigenin. 11,12 Biological reports on L. decipiens showed that it has antihyperlipidemic, antioxidant, cytotoxic, antimicrobial and ulceroprotective activities. 11 To the best of the authors' knowledge, there have been no previous studies about its effect on SARS-CoV-2.
