Extra‐intestinal symptom severity There were highly significant improvements in the severity of all of the somatic extra‐intestinal symptoms of IBS following GDH in this population (Table 2 ) and a significant overall improvement in mean NCSS following GDH (baseline 250.49 ± 95.65 vs post‐GDH 178.37 ± 88.15; T (42) = 6.50, P < 0.0001; Fig. 2 ).
