With relatively weak illumination (50 μmol photons/m 2 /s) and limited carbon supply for the cells cultivated in flasks, the glycogen synthesis and storage in PCC 7942 cells were maintained at a relatively low level; thus, the effects of enhanced glgP expression and glycogen degradation activities might not be significant enough.
