For the fiber integrated in a device (a guidewire), we see that the jitter tends to increase slightly when integrated; however, the increase is only barely significant, the variation in the jitter among the various fibers measured is comparable to the increase in jitter upon integration. 3.2 Tip positions The 100 measurements for each position in the lattice are averaged to obtain a tip position with reduced jitter; this facilitates the detection of even small systematic biases in tip position.
