Regarding ear size, only one gene, EDARADD , shows a marginally significant association when grouping all species together (uncorrected P -value = 0.03, slope = 1.181) ( Table 4 ), which might suggest the evolution of this gene is involved in variation in ear size across mammals, similar to the effects of EDAR in humans ( Adhikari et al. 2015 ).
