Individual mass of exposed individuals did not vary between populations (ANOVA, F (3, 97) = 1.211, p = 0.31), but had a highly significant effect on survival during trials, with an additional 1 cg of mass leading to an approximately 6% decrease in mortality risk per day when controlling for population (CPH coefficient in combined model = −0.063, p < 0.001, Table 1 ).
