In contrast, Shot‐PC::GFP (another natural isoform which lacks CH1; Figure 1a,c ) failed to induce either of these phenotypes; instead it showed a slight trend to suppress spool numbers below control levels (Figure 1c,l ), as observed in previous studies (Sánchez‐Soriano et al., 2010 ).
