Our results demonstrate a highly significant positive correlation between local PDE10A expression and the PDE10A inhibitor-induced expression of gene markers in both D1- and D2-MSNs, and a similar positive relationship between the basal PDE10A levels and gene induction by dopamine depletion and L-DOPA treatment in a Parkinson’s disease model, as well as by psychostimulants (cocaine, methylphenidate) in the intact striatum. 2.
